Qualifying with a 2:1 honours degree in Environmental Technology from the University of Abertay, Roslyn’s career began in the 1990s in the sewage systems of Dundee and Fife. Since moving to Glasgow not long prior to the implementation of Part IIA Contaminated Land legislation her professional focus shifted to land quality issues including land contamination management, slope stability, foundation-design, control of non-native plant species and consolidation of abandoned mine workings.
After ten years of working for consultancies, in 2006 Roslyn became the Contaminated Land regulatory officer for Inverclyde Council. She is proactive in knowledge transfer, participating in a number of workgroups, conferences, events and organisations and is Chair for of our Land Quality Expert Advisory Group.
In her spare time Roslyn is currently undertaking a part-time PhD with the University of the West of Scotland researching sustainable decision-making processes for managing land quality issues.
