Nigel has been a qualified Environmental Health Officer since 1990 and has worked in a number of local authorities including West Lothian District Council, Strathkelvin District Council and East Dunbartonshire Council. He has specialised in pollution control since 1996 and has been involved in key policy groups such as the Scottish Government contaminated land advisory panel and the HSE Physical Agents Review Group on noise and vibration.
Nigel gained an MSc in Acoustics, Vibration and Noise Control from Heriot Watt University and worked for AECOM as an Associate Director before joining Glasgow City Council in 2008 as Public Health Manager. Within Glasgow City Council he has carried out managerial roles in Environmental Health, Business Innovation and Transformation and is now the Parks and Streetscene Manager.
Nigel has been involved in the National Society for Clean Air since the 1990’s and became the vice chair for EPUK’s Board of Trustees before taking over the role of chair for Environmental Protection Scotland in 2013.
