A CONSULTATION has been launched following publication of the Scottish Government’s draft of the new Cleaner Air For Scotland (CAFS) strategy.
The new draft strategy updates the current CAFS strategy and recommends new measures to account for recent areas of concern for air quality across sectors ranging from agriculture to domestic and industrial emissions to active travel and introduces further measures to discourage use of petrol and diesel vehicles.
The consultation, which runs until January 22nd 2021, follows high level recommendations contained in an independent report by Professor Campbell Gemmell into the CAFS strategy that was commissioned by the government and published in August 2019.
In addition, the government is consulting on the Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report, Equalities Impact Assessment and Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment for the strategy.
