Environmental Protection Scotland has welcomed the publication of Glasgow Airport’s 2018-2023 Noise Action Plan, which provides new mitigation measures for a significantly higher number of residents across a wider area who suffer from the impact of noise from planes.
It is the latest updated five-yearly plan, which aims to mitigate and minimise the impacts of noise from aircraft approaching or taking off at the Renfrewshire airport, to be published by the airport.
In addition to the mitigation measures, a new online tool, WebTrak, will enable residents and others people affected by aircraft noise to identify which carriers are flying over their properties and the decibel levels they incur.
EPS Policy and Communications Officer John Bynorth said: “This sort of forward-thinking approach by Glasgow Airport provides additional reassurance for communities living under the flightpaths.”
