EPS is looking forward to working closely with four new Scottish Government ministers who have been appointed.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has made Michael Matheson MSP the Cabinet Secretary for Net-zero, Energy and Transport.
Màiri McAllan is the Environment, Biodiversity and Land Reform minister. Richard Lochhead is Just Transition minister, a new policy role responsible for ensuring communities and organisations are not left behind by the move away from fossil fuel industries. Graeme Dey is the Minister for Transport.
They will be prominent government representatives at the COP26 climate change summit to be held in Glasgow in November.
EPS Policy and Communications Officer John Bynorth said: “We congratulate the new ministers and Cabinet Secretary on their appointments and look forward to their work to deliver a cleaner, quieter and sustainable Scotland as we strive for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045.
“Mr Matheson has played a key role in the development of Low Emission Zones, the National Transport Strategy 2 and the work of the new ‘Cleaner Air For Scotland 2’ strategy.”
